Network Coordinator and Research scientist at Geological Survey of Finland
Kaisa Turunen has a MSc degree in geology from the University of Helsinki. She is working as a network coordinator and research scientist in the Industrial Environments and Recycling unit (TUK) of Geological Survey of Finland. Her main task is to coordinate the Finnish Mine Water Excellence Network and her research focuses especially on mine water. Studies related to mine and industrial environments and resource efficiency at GTK aim at solving challenges related to environmental protection and the social license in sustainable resource use. The aims are to create new innovations and customer-oriented applications for mine and industrial environments (sites), mine and process waters, and recycling of wastes and by-products.
